Assessment Objectives Weighting (Theory Papers)

~45%

A — Knowledge with Understanding

Approximately 20% of marks allocated to direct recall; the remaining 25% tests deeper understanding.

~45%

B — Handling Information and Solving Problems

Applying scientific knowledge to interpret data, solve problems and draw conclusions from experimental results.

~10%

C — Experimental Skills and Investigations

Selecting techniques, recording observations, interpreting data, evaluating methods and suggesting improvements.

Section B Strategy

Each structured paper (Papers 2, 4, 6) includes a Section B where candidates must answer 1 of 2 questions (8 marks each). Our coaching trains students to quickly identify which question plays to their strengths and to allocate their time accordingly — a skill that can make a meaningful difference to the final grade.

Coaching by Year

How We Coach at Each Stage

Our coaching adapts to where your child is in their Secondary journey — building scientific foundations in Sec 3 and refining for peak O-Level performance in Sec 4.

Secondary 3
Secondary 4

Secondary 3 — Building Physical Foundations

Secondary 3 introduces the core Physics sections: Measurement, Newtonian Mechanics, and Thermal Physics. Students encounter quantitative problem-solving for the first time — applying formulae, drawing and interpreting graphs, and working with SI units. Our coaching builds strong conceptual understanding alongside structured problem-solving habits from the outset.
